Meet The Team

Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Sanders earned his DVM from Mississippi State University. He has been in practice since 1993 with experience in both small and large animal medicine as well as emergency medicine.  He is very thankful to have served in the US Army Reserves.  When not in the practice Dr. Sanders loves to be out enjoying the hiking and camping opportunities that Tennessee offers or wrenching on his latest vintage vehicle.  

Kara's academic journey in Pre-Veterinary medicine took a few turns ending up with finishing degrees in Microbiology and Education before marrying the vet.  After many years as a professor in the Biological Sciences at three different community colleges, she now serves as the Practice Manager for Sanders Animal Hospital.  Kara divides time outside of the hospital homeschooling the last of the four Sanders children, serving in the church, and doing volunteer work at the local and state level.
